This service is about creating a space where young people can be discipled by others in our church community. It includes our Friday night youth group but we encourage parents and others who have a passion to see the next generation of disciples raised up to be a part of this service. It currently happens twice a term and you can find out all the dates and other details here. |

Mr Baldry has 15 adopted or foster children (aged 2 to 32) and eight grandchildren. And if raising 15 children isn’t challenging enough, Richard has been a paraplegic since he was 19 through an accident at work. Richard works with intellectually disabled people and, as a qualified leatherworker, he teaches men leatherwork at a local rehabilitation centre.
His 20-year-old daughter, Samantha Woodgate, nominated him for Queensland Father of the Year. Samantha says she does not know where she would be without her dad, Richard Baldry. She was fostered to Mr Baldry and his wife Noelene when she was an 11-month-old baby.
“Dad’s given me a second chance to progress in life,” she said. “He’s taught me life skills and given me the confidence to be a young lady.”
This guys is very inspiring I reckon. Check out more information or nominate someone at this website.

The Anatomy of Peace
Starting in 3rd term we will be running a sermon series based on the book called The Anatomy of Peace. I've found this book powerful and I think it has the potential to be life changing. If you'd like to purchase a copy of the book then you can buy it on Amazon or an in-house printed version from the church office or foyer for $10.

After 6 weeks of discussion and prayer we're adding a new dimension to our Sunday night service. You could sum it up in the phrase "a new generation of disciples." The heart of the change is about how do we invest into and mentor the next generation of young people, and the hope is that an increasing number of people who attend our PM service will embrace this challenge. To help facilitate this practically we will be shifting our night service to Friday night 8 times a year and we will also shift our Friday night youth program to Sunday night 8 times a year. This shift is aimed at fostering relationships and creating a disciple-making environment so a new generation of disciples can be raised up in our church. Our first Friday night service will be on June 18.

We have recently signed up to be a part of a national mentoring program for families called COACH. This program links individuals or couples with people referred to us from our broader community. The ideas is to walk with families or people in need of some help. By aiming at some specific goals you are able to help facilitate real change in a family as they tackle the tough issues that have held them back. For more info click here. |
