The two books of Chronicles are the last ever books written in the Old Testament. Although it doesn’t necessarily seem like it in our modern Bibles, the two books of Chronicles serve as a “highlights reel” of the entire Old Testament. Many people will share their very best moments on their social media; Chronicles is the Bible’s way of doing just that. It seeks to combine all of the best moments of the Old Testament into an epic narrative. First Chronicles begins by giving us a living history of this narrative.
